1st of the month Expiring listings

October 1st, 2008

Well, it’s the beginning of the month. And it looks like there are some disappointed Sellers out there. A lot of agents set their listings to expire at the beginning of the month. I’m not sure why. I guess it’s just an easy way to fill out paperwork. So I wasn’t too surprised to see a lot of expired listings when I went into the NWMLS database today.

NWMLS Exipred LIstings - October 1, 2008But 2505 still seems high. But it sure beats the 4743 I reported on January 1st! Most Sellers will probably re-list. But some may choose to take their homes off the market for now, knowing that the end of the year is traditionally a slow time anyway. But it might also help thin out the inventory a bit.
