For those who don’t know, I spent over ten years in Japan in the 1980’s and 1990’s teaching various subjects. I started out teaching English until I learned the language better, and then I taught computer graphics and page-layout applications in colleges and universities.

Those who are teachers understand the pure satisfaction that comes with assisting someone to attain a higher level of knowledge or skill. You really feel you are making a difference.

It’s my definition of “service”. Still gives me goose bumps.
